Dental Benefits Available On Select Nammed Medical Aid Options
Basic Conservative Dentistry
If you are a Nammed member on the Active, Essential, Standard or Comprehensive medical aid options, you have access to the following dental benefits:
- Consultation or Oral Examination
- You receive one consultation per beneficiary every six months
- Intra-Oral Radiograph
- Two intra-oral radiographs per beneficiary per annum
Preventative Dental Treatment
Keep your teeth in optimal health with our basic conservative dentistry preventative measures. The following dental treatments are included for the above-mentioned medical aid options:
- Prophylaxis and Polishing
- One treatment per beneficiary per six months
- Topical Application of Fluoride
- One treatment per beneficiary per six months
- Dental Fissure Sealant
- One per beneficiary up to 14-years of age, every two years
- Molars and pre-molars only
- Extractions
- Three extractions per beneficiary per annum
- Tooth or exposed tooth roots
- Restorations or Fillings
- Three restorations per beneficiary per annum, limited to one restoration per tooth every two years
- Full Plastic Dentures - Upper and Lower
- One per beneficiary every four years
Please note: Procedures not listed above will be paid from the Additional Basic Dental Benefit, if applicable. Paid at 100% NAMAF Tariff.
